The courts, especially in British Columbia, often consider matters related to encampments. The below database tracks these proceedings, including:

• Injunction orders issued by the court;

• Challenges of municipal bylaws on constitutional grounds; and

• Judicial review of municipal orders.

The database tracks the status and locations of encampments which are the subject of court proceedings, and provides summaries of these proceedings. Some of the case summaries use legal language that might be confusing for some people to read. To help this, we have put together a "plain-English" glossary of definitions here.
